Man hijacked and robbed of R50 000

KwaThema - A man has been robbed of R50 000 after he was approached by three suspects at a shopping centre along Shabangu Street last Thursday.

It is alleged that when the victim walked out of the store with his friend, he was approached by the three men who robbed him.

KwaThema police spokesperson Capt Thabo Sibuyi says the men pulled out a firearm and demanded the man’s money, cellphones, car keys and bank cards.

“They drove with them to Brakpan, where one of the suspects was dropped off to withdraw money from the victim’s account.

“They then drove to Mackenzie Park where they dropped the victims off and drove away in their car,” he says.

Sibuyi says the stolen vehicle is a brown Toyota Corolla with registration number VLS 332 GP.

“Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts should please contact the KwaThema police on 011 812 4600,” he says.
