School back online after donation from bank

KwaThema - Lefa-Ifa Secondary School received 10 new computers from a banking group on Thursday.

The school has been functioning without computers since they were stolen during the December holidays.

School principal Mbuyiseni Nxumalo says the donation will assist the school a lot, especially with their administrative functions.

“The theft crippled the school’s administration process and we could not afford to replace the computers.

“We have been struggling for months without computers and prayed for a donation.

“When we received a call from the bank we were happy our prayers were answered,” he says.

Nxumalo says the learners will also be able to use the computers for research purposes.

“They no longer have to rely on their cellphones and internet cafés to do research for homework,” he says.

Nxumalo says he is calling on the community to help protect the school premises.

“These computers are part of our educational tools and play a big role in the functioning of the school.

“It is all of our responsibility to protect the school’s resources and bring those who attempt to steal from, and vandalise, the school to book,” he says.
