Prayer by women donating uniforms

Langaville - Ladies from the Siyaphila Team gave learners from Menzi Primary School new uniforms.

The Siyaphila Team led by Zodwa Mokoena and Anna Nkosi is a prayer group which is always vigilant about taking care of the needs of the community.

The team has been going around to different schools and community programmes to offer assistance.

“I am grateful but not surprised – women always play a vital role in the community.

“They seem to always know exactly what we need,” says the principal of Menzi Primary School, Ndumiso Mnguni.

This encourages him to do more for the learners and make the school a priority, he adds.

The bulk of the donation was school jerseys to make sure the children stay warm in the winter months.

Menzi Primary School is in the process of moving into a newly constructed building.

In the meantime, the learners are taught in temporary structures which are not well insulated.

“They saw the plight of the children and they did something about it.”

Mnguni says the team has committed to coming back to help even more children after seeing there were many more in need of assistance.

Lizzie Thanjekwayo also expresses her gratitude and explains, “Most of our learners come from poverty-stricken homes.

“This will make a huge difference in their lives.”
