‘The sky is the limit’

Langaville - Mabotho Bethuel Letsoalo, aka ConVince, says the sky is the limit for his music career.

ConVince says at the age of 10 he was overtaken by a passion for rap music while he listened to the likes of Notorious Big and Jay Z.

“I only started performing at the age of 16 in open sessions.”

He says he does not limit his talent to performing, but is also a writer and composer.

“I have shared the stage with Bongo Riot, from Gang of Instrumentals and Pitch Black Afro.

They inspire me to push boundaries and make a name for myself.”

He is well-known for his flows, catchy choruses and eye-tearing beat selections.

He became familiar in the hip-hop community of Ekurhuleni, ConVince adds, when he began getting interviews and airplay on community radio stations.

“One of the best moments was when I had a solo interview on one of the radio stations last year.

“I was pleasantly surprised by how many people knew me and recognised my music.”

His main influences include South African musicians like Lira, Pro Verb, Nyambs and HHP.

“I am also very grateful for the relationships I have with my brothers at Street Corner Academy,” says ConVince.
