Men stand together in prayer

Tsakane - The Tsakane Christian Ministers Fellowship is appealing to the community to join them in prayer on June 1 at Emdeni Fellowship, Koni Street.

Pastor Alfred Masimula, chairperson of the fraternal, says they felt compelled to act and stand against the violence aimed at some in South Africa.

“We want to make an impact through various ongoing programmes but we thought it important to pray together first.”

Masimula says they want to reach out to men in order to uncover the root cause of violent behaviour.

“Prevention is better than cure.

“We want to influence even the guy who has been thinking about it, even if he hasn’t done it yet,” adds Pastor Jonas Rauwane.

He says although South Africa has many problems, the continued abuse of women will destroy the whole nation.

“And as good men, we will not allow this negativity to cover all of us – that is why we must pray!”

The fraternal has also roped in, among other speakers, the SAPS Social Crime wing to equip women on how to protect themselves and each other.

The interdenominational prayer meeting will be held on June 1, at Emdeni Fellowship.

The programme will start at 1pm.
