Good Samaritans donate gifts

Tsakane - Christmas came early for the Sunday school children of Upper Room Healing Ministry on Sunday.

They received educational gifts and clothes from the Samaritan Purse, under the initiative called Operation Christmas Child.

Pastor Sarah Mahlangu says the initiative provides spiritual and physical aid to people around the world.

“The children, aged between two and 14, received educational material which they use in the Sunday school.

“They also received other gifts.

“There are children who have never received gifts in their life,” she says.

Sarah says the initiative is also aimed at motivating the children, and others, to stay in or join the Sunday school so that they can be taught good morals.

“Their teachers also undergo regular training to be able to work with the children because they are all from different backgrounds,” she says.

Pastor Simon Mahlangu says he is happy that the children received the gifts.

“The children are so happy and this will help keep them in the church and off the streets,” he says.
