Stabbed woman dies in field

Daveyton - A woman aged between 25 and 30 was found dying of stab-wounds on an open field near Kopano Street in Mina Nawe section.

EMPD spokesman Clifford Shongwe says according to the police who were patrolling in the area, they were alerted by a taxi driver that a woman who had been stabbed was lying on an isolated, open field.

“The police immediately went to investigate and found her lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds on the chest.

“She was bleeding through the mouth and could not speak because of the pain she was in.

“An ambulance was called to the scene but it was too late and she was declared dead.

Shongwe says that it is not known why the woman was stabbed to death.

Shongwe says that the community members have complained about such incidents occurring in the area, especially during winter.

“Bodies are usually found and they are requesting police intervention because the area is close to the residential homes.
