Support a fashionable fundraiser

KwaThema - Vogue models will host a fashion show fund-raising event in aid of Tholakele Centre of Hope and KwaThema Society for the Aged.

Event organiser Steven Monaki says they decided to use what they know best to help those in need in their community.

“It is winter and some of these people don’t have families to shower them with love.

“They need warm clothes, blankets and food and, as the community, we cannot expect everything to fall on the shoulders of the homes.

“They are already doing a lot for the residents and we thought we should also do our part,” he says.

Steven says they are calling on models and designers in the area to support the initiative.

“This is a platform to help those in need and also an opportunity for designers to show off their talent on stage.”

Winnie Sibaya says people of all ages are encouraged to attend as the show is for a good cause.

“It is all of our responsibility to ensure people living in these centres are looked after.

“Let’s join hands by making the event a success to show them love and that they are still part of the community,” she says.
