His toilet troubles are over

KwaThema - Bonginkosi Mdebele’s toilet woes are a thing of the past.

One of the African Reporter readers, Gordon Mnisi, who is a plumber, was touched when he read his story in last week’s issue.

The residents complained about the quality of the toilets which were constructed three years ago.

A ward committee member, Amos Makhonjwa, says that they were poorly constructed and of poor quality.

Bonginkosi’s toilet didn’t flush when it was handed over to him.

He says that he was forced to collect water from the outside tap, hold the bucket in the air and pour the water into the toilet to force the waste down.

Gordon says that he was touched by Bonginkosi’s story when he saw it in the paper.

“I imagined that it would be difficult for him to hold the bucket in the air, especially when he is not feeling well.

“I immediately offered my services as a plumber to fix his toilet,” he says.

Bonginkosi says that he is very happy that his toilet is now functioning properly.

“I was frustrated and preferred using my neighbours’ toilets at times.

“I am grateful to African Reporter and that Gordon offered to help me; I no longer dread visiting the toilet,” he says.
