JUST IN: What you need to know about the Springs Mall’s opening day – times and activities
As if the excitement of our new Springs Mall wasn't enough, there is more than just shopping to look forward to on opening day.
Amoret D’Arrigo, marketing manager at Springs Mall, says the mall will open to the public at 8am on Thursday.
“There may be some queuing involved at the individual stores if they have opening day specials so, to my knowledge, people can start lining up outside the stores from 8am,” says Amoret.
After that, the official opening time will be at 9am.

The ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening will be held at 9.30am for 10am at the Woolworths court.
Keep an eye out for our Facebook Live video on Springs Advertiser’s Facebook page just before the ribbon cutting starts at around 10am.
If you can’t be there in the flesh, we’ll bring you the experience as it happens.
“The speeches and formalities, which are scheduled at 10am for 10.30am, will be short and sweet,” says Amoret.
Uncle Jabulani, a Woolworths employee from Springs, will be singing a song he wrote about the Springs Mall during the day.

Stilt walkers will be walking among the crowd and may have a few surprises up their sleeves…
Different stores may also have a few characters you’d want to meet.

On Saturday, DZL will be entertaining the crowds with a performance from 1pm until just before 2pm.
