New school uniform for 50 learners

KwaThema - Fifty learners at Muzimsha Primary School have received full uniform donations from a well-known South African bank.

Learners from vulnerable backgrounds benefited from the donation.

The school principal, Amos Magudulela, says that they are grateful for the donation.

“Many of the learners in the school come from poor backgrounds and are orphaned.

“They are forced to wear torn and worn-out school uniforms and this sets them apart from the other learners.

“They avoid being fully active in school activities because they fear that they will be laughed at,” he says.

Amos says that the new school uniforms will help restore the children’s dignity and encourage them to perform at their best.

“We are calling on other donors to come forward to help improve the learners’ self-esteem.

“It takes a village to raise a child and through the help of the community and the private sector we’ll be able to produce the best learners,” he says.

The school chairperson, Nicholas Nyaao, says that the donation will help the children to perform better in class.

“We don’t want the children to feel different from others because of their family background – that is not their responsibility. We want them to focus on their studies and perform at their best,” he says.
