It is believed that the incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning.
KwaThema police spokesman, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says paramedics and the police were called to the scene.

“When police arrived they found the victim lying on the ground being treated by paramedics.
“She was severely injured, with several stab wounds to her head and neck, and was rushed to the Pholosong Hospital,” he says.
Sebuyi says the victim died on the way there.
“The boyfriend allegedly drank rat poison in an attempt to kill himself.
“He went on to hand himself over to the Boksburg police,” he says.

Sebuyi says the KwaThema police were called in and the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and discharged on Tuesday.
“The motive is still unknown at this stage. He was officially arrested and charged with murder.
“He remains at the Springs Police Station and will soon appear in court,” says Sibuyi.
