SAPS arrest man for possession of stolen vehicle

Springs police arrested a man for possession of a stolen vehicle on Monday.

This took place on the corner of Thema and Tsindi roads, KwaThema at 1.45pm.

SAPs spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says police were on a routine patrol when they noticed a suspicious looking vehicle.

“When the police stopped the vehicle the driver couldn’t provide them with the necessary documents to prove that the vehicle belonged to him,” he says.

The suspect, 37 years of age, is from Vosloorus.

When the police contacted the owner of the white Isuzu double cab, he wasn’t aware that his vehicle had been stolen.

Ramphora says the owner, who lives in Springs, was attending a funeral and when he went outside he noticed his vehicle wasn’t parked where he left it.
