Hijacking at gunpoint

KwaThema - A 31-year-old man's vehicle, a white Nissan 1400 bakkie, was hijacked on Saturday.

The incident took place at 1am, in Ntsindi Street, KwaThema.

“The man parked his vehicle in front of his business, when a white Mazda stopped behind him with five male occupants.

“Four of the men approached him. Three were armed with firearms, which they pointed at him,” says KwaThema police spokesman Capt Thabo Sibuyi.

The suspects allegedly also took his cellphone and R2 000 in cash.

Sibuyi says the four suspects climbed into the bakkie, and both the Mazda and the bakkie were driven away from the scene.

Police are investigating a case of hijacking.
