The incident took place at about 3.30pm at the corner of Thabahadi and Masuku streets, Extension Three, KwaThema.
KwaThema police spokesman Capt Thabo Sibuyi says the man was approached by two suspects, who asked for money.

“One of the suspects had a knife pointed at the victim while the other searched him and took R190,” said Sibuyi.
The victim asked for his money and claimed it was not the first time the two suspects, who are known to him, had robbed him of cash.

Police are investigating a case of robbery with a weapon other than a firearm.
