Mokoena family thankful for assistance

Tsakane – Volunteers from the African National Congress (ANC) Ward 83 branch, gathered on Saturday to help rebuild the Mokoena home, after its roof was blown away by strong winds last month.

Regional executive member of the party, Nomadlozi Nkosi was also present along with Ward 83 councillor Busi Masuku.

Nkosi explains that the family, which found themselves in trouble when the natural disaster occurred, was forced to move out of the house.

This resulted in them having to find refuge at neighbours’ homes.

“The community tried to assist the family where they could but then we also decided to come on board.

“So we gathered some donations which included materials donated by Thamandla Construction,” she says.

Daughter Mandisa Mokoena (24) says they are very happy with the help they are receiving as a family.

“This has been a challenging time for us since I live with my parents, three siblings and my parents’ three grandchildren.

“So we are happy that our home is finally getting fixed.

“We would like to thank all the people who are assisting in making this possible,” she says.
