Tsakane’s shoplifting stats increase

Tsakane – The local police have raised concerns about the number of shoplifting cases being reported in the area.

According to police spokesman Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu, they are receiving about 10 cases of shoplifting per week.

“As the Tsakane police, we are worried and are appealing to parents to make sure that their children are monitored when around the shops.

“This especially includes shops at the Tsakane Mall, Tsakane Corner, Tsakane Square and Ekhaya Shopping Centre,” she says.

Mngomezulu adds that they are urging the community to beware of people who may want to sell them items outside shops they claim to work for.

“The community must stop buying such items outside the shops, because when we apprehend the perpetrator and they point you out and you are found with these items without proof of payment, you will be charged with possession of stolen property,” she warns.
