Community bids Dr Lesia farewell

KwaThema - Esau Mpatiso 'Bro Kid' Lesia (60), who was born on August 10, 1955, died in Springs on January 14.

He attended Sechaba Primary School and matriculated from Maroka High School in Taba ‘Nchu in the Free State.

Lesia studied towards a BSc degree at Turfloop, University of the North, and then later studied MBChB at the Medical University of Southern Africa.

He practised as a medical doctor in KwaThema for the past 30 years.

He was part of the St Andrews Anglican Church where he served as a church warden and later became a lay minister, and was active in educating the congregation in health care.

Lesia was involved in Ktseo, an organisation involved in raising funds to assist matriculants to register at university, as well as the KwaThema Stimulation Centre.

He is survived by his wife Nkele Lesia, three sons and a daughter.

A memorial service will be held at HH Ngakane Hall, KwaThema Civic Centre, at 2pm on Friday.

The funeral service will be held at the HH Ngakane Hall at 7am on Tuesday.

The cortège will leave for the Nigel cemetery at 10.30am, where he will be laid to rest.
