Alleged rape of two teens turns New Year’s celebrations sour

KwaThema - Two teenage girls were allegedly raped in the early hours of Sunday morning by one man.

Police spokesman Capt Thabo Sibuyi says the 15-year-old complainant was with four friends (three young men and one young woman) at a shop in Vergenoeg around 0.15am.

One of the young men was then allegedly seen talking to an unknown man.

“The same unknown man later approached the complainant to speak to her and pretended to be a prophet.

“While doing so, the complainant saw her three male friends run off, leaving behind the other young woman and her.
