Lights bring Christmas cheer

Christmas is a time to share and the highlight of most children's lives and the excitement grows when they see houses decorated in lights.

These lights put a smile on the faces of everyone who passes.

With only a few residents decorating their houses this year, it leaves few opportunities for those who love to drive around on Christmas Eve to look at the beautiful festive decorations.

Springs resident Traci van Dyk is disappointed because she doesn’t see many decorated houses in Springs and surrounding areas this year.

“I remember the days when the main streets in the CBD were decorated with Christmas lights, it was beautiful and for some, the only bit of Christmas cheer they could experience.

“Parents used to take their children to see the lights,” she says.

The Addie asked for addresses where the community can go with their families to view the lights on our Facebook page and this was what the residents had to say:

Annalien Botes: “Broom Street, Casseldale.”

Rachelle Fielding: “There are houses in Madeley and Circle roads, Marks Crescent in Strubenvale and also one is Prince George Avenue, Brenthurst.
