Pageant winners crowned

KwaThema – Beauty queens have been crowned in three divisions of the Miss Spring Ekurhuleni East pageant.

The final show stopper was hosted at the Lefa-Ifa Secondary School, by the Black Fusion Modelling Agency.

Founder of the agency, Lefa Ntuli, says though the competition was tough for some of the contestants, it was a success.

Three titles were awarded: Nohnhlanhla Mbatha (10) won the little division. The teen division was won by Reitumetse Moswathupa (14). The senior Miss Spring Ekurhuleni East was awarded to Makhotso Moloi (15).

Mbatha says she entered the pageant, because she wants to be successful in this industry one day.

Moswathupa believes that she has a lot to offer the country and sees a great future for herself in the beauty industry.

Moloi wishes to see herself as a future Miss South Africa.

Ntuli says such events help in minimising the rate of crime in the community, teenage pregnancy and drug abuse.

“We want to see these models grow in their potential in the modelling industry – and to be proud of themselves.

“Through this, we’re also able to teach them basic skills of the industry,” he says.
