Hijackers creep up on driver

KwaThema - A man (32) was allegedly hijacked by two armed men On Friday at about 10pm.

According to police spokesman, Capt Thabo Sibuyi the complainant had parked his silver Opel Corsa along Cheu Street.

He went inside the house to collect some items but on his way out to the car, noticed two unknown men passing – and he told his brother he would wait for them to pass.

“Afterwards as the complainant went to his car, he opened to door and put the key in the ignition.

“He then saw someone opening the door and the other man knocking on the window with a gun.

“The complainant was pushed out the of vehicle and instructed to lie down on the ground. After that the thieves took his wallet with R400, driver’s license, bank cards and drove off in the vehicle,” says Sibuyi.

Drivers are urged to beef up on the security of their vehicles and to remain vigilant at all times.
