Business robbery investigation ongoing

KwaThema - Police have disclosed that they are investigating a case of business robbery.

This comes after a reported incident which occurred on Saturday at about 1.15pm where a shop owner was robbed of R27 000.

“It is believed that the owner was about to leave his place of business along Raborife Street.

“On his was way out to collect money elsewhere, he closed the burglar grid.

“But as he was about to leave, he was approached by men who pretended as though they were interested in the business of selling bread,” says Capt Thabo Sibuyi.

While the shop owner was still talking to the men, one of them allegedly pointed a firearm at the business owner and allegedly hit him with the weapon on the head.

The men then demanded money, went into the shop, took cash amounting to R27 000, and fled in a Polo Vivo.

No arrests have been made.
