Men’s club shares its plans

Duduza – The Thubelihle Men's Club recently celebrated it's one-year anniversary.

According to co-founder May Malinga, the burial club was founded on April 19, 2015.

The first meeting was held between 15 potential members, of whom only three honoured the decision taken to form Thubelihle Men’s Club.

Tumelo Ngwenya, Wessel Msipha and May Malinga soldiered on to form the club and recruit more members.

And to date, the club has expanded to 14 members in good standing.

“It is common cause that most if not all clubs or societies are formed or established on the basis of burial and social engagement.

“Our vision and objectives, however, as the Thubelihle Men’s Club, is to achieve more than that as we aim to additionally address poverty alleviation and educational sponsorship for our community.

“It is also imperative to state that this cannot be achieved without the support of our community of Duduza, though we are not confined to this area in terms of our members,” he says.

Malinga adds that as they celebrated their one-year anniversary on Sunday, they felt it was relevant for them to share this success with the community at large.

“We are looking forward to witnessing more growth and development as we are energetic and young,” he says.
