Join SAPS as a reservist

Kwatsaduza - The South African Police Service (SAPS) is inviting all people who are employed, but wishing to volunteer their time to help in the fight against crime, to join the police force as reservists.

All applicants must be South African citizens by birth who are at least 20 years old but younger than 50 years.

Candidates will be requested to complete a health questionnaire and must be medically, mentally and physically fit to perform duties.

They must be of good and sound character.

The applicants will need to allow for their fingerprints and DNA samples to be taken, complete assessments, be screened, undergo training and must be prepared to take the oath of office.

Furthermore, they should understand that service may be terminated at the age of 60.

Applicants who are employed will receive preference as reservists are not paid.

Hopefuls will also need to provide proof of residence and have no criminal record or cases pending.

All interested parties are requested to visit their closest police stations as soon as possible for further information.
