Local officer represents at provincial and nationals

KwaThema - Willie Bosch (43) is no ordinary policeman.

The warrant officer, who works at the KwaThema Police Station, also has a deep love for fishing, which has seen him going places to represent at provincial and national levels.

In March the Geduld resident attended the Gauteng Provincial trials for freshwater bank angling at the Vaal Dam.

After the trials he was selected to represent the Gauteng B Team at Bloemhof Dam in the North West Province between October 15 and 22.

“Participants from 10 provinces/teams competed in the SAPS National Freshwater Bank Angling Championship.

“After the gruelling fishing in the very hot but windy weather, the Gauteng A Team came second overall while the B Team came in fourth,” explains police spokesman Capt Thabo Sibuyi.

Bosch was also selected to represent the SAPS National teams in next year’s Interforces National Competition, which will be held at Bloemhof Dam.

Sibuyi says that as a station they are very proud of Bosch as it’s his fourth time being selected for the Gauteng Provincial team.

It is also his second time being selected for the National Police Team.

Bosch shares how proud he is of his achievement.

“This has been a great achievement and honour for me.

“I am also looking forward to and preparing to compete in the national competition next year,” Bosch says.
