According to police spokesman, Lerato Mngomezulu, the woman was arrested last Monday at about 6pm, for the murder of her daughters, aged three-years-old and eight-years-old.

“The police were called to Far East Rand Hospital last Sunday at about 7.30pm, for the death of the younger child who had been transferred from Pholosong Hospital, for further medical treatment but however passed on.
“Upon further investigation it was discovered that earlier on the Sunday, the suspect allegedly fed her two children rat poison and ate it as well.
“All three were then rushed to Pholosong Hospital for medical treatment,” says Mngomezulu.

She adds that the younger child was transferred to Far East Rand Hospital, where she later passed on while the older child also passed on, at the Pholosong Hospital.
