Following this incident, at 17.15pm on the same day, a 19-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in the murder and attempted murder.
“Earlier on Wednesday morning, at around 4am, the teenage boy is believed to have been part of a group of four robbers who entered a yard in the area,” says police spokesman Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu.

“The group broke in through the victim’s window and managed to get a key used to open the door to enter his room.
“The armed robbers demanded money from the man and an estimated R7 000 was taken.
“Afterwards, the victim was shot before the group left the room.”
The victim was later declared dead by paramedics, while he was inside the ambulance.
Mngomezulu adds that, on their way out, the suspects also shot a woman (age unknown), who was watching them through the window of her room, in the same yard.
The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police are still investigating and a manhunt has been launched for the other members of the group.
