Man allegedly murdered in Tsakane shack fire

Spokeswoman Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says the suspect was arrested early in the week in connection with the alleged murder of his ex-girlfriend’s partner.

“The arrest took place on Monday at 10am, after he allegedly burnt down a shack in Extension 12, while the deceased was still inside.”

“The man was confirmed dead on the scene by paramedics. During the incident the suspect also caught fire, sustaining some injuries,” says Mngomezulu.

He was then arrested, but since he was injured he had to be taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

At this stage it is unclear what the motive behind the incident was.
