Celebrating Heritage Day through learning

KwaThema – Learner Basetsane Mokotong (12) has done well in representing Zamani Primary School.

The Grade Seven learner participated in the African Language Literacy Celebration contest along with five other learners from the school.

The event was hosted at the Michael Mkhwanazi Primary School in Tsakane, last Tuesday.

The six learners from Zamani Primary School participated in reading, poem, dialogue and spellathon categories.

“Mokotong was entered into the spellathon category and out of 40 schools, she came in second place.

“Well done to our learner for doing so well.

“We are also proud of the other five though they did not make it to the top, and thank teacher Noxolo Suntele who worked so hard in preparing and making sure the learners represent our school well,” says principal Selby Nkosi.

He adds that he always encourages participation more than winning, because to win a competition should come as a bonus. However learners should participate to expand their knowledge and to develop.
