Stimulation centre gets revamped

KwaThema – B3 Funeral Home together with the KwaThema Stimulation Centre will be hosting a golf day tomorrow at the Rand Park Golf Course in Johannesburg.

A total number of 240 golfers, some of who are high-profile sporting personality and dignitaries, have confirmed that they will be attending.

This annual event has running for the past 12 years in aid of the KwaThema Stimulation Centre, so that it may have a proper structure and a fully fledged centre for children living with disability.

According to Matthews Mogafe, the chairman of the funeral home, they adopted the centre after Mirriam Ndebele, the centre manager reached out for help in order to house children living with disability in the community.

“When we vistied the centre, it wasn’t a pretty sight, so it was up to us as a business to make a decision to help.

“The children were housed in zinc sheet structures without any stimulation equipment.

“So we had to start afresh and acquire land for them, build a structure and get the necessary equipment for the children.

“Through the golf day we sought to raise funds to complete three more classrooms and to erect an admin block,” he says.

Ndebele says she is grateful for the assistance they’ve received from the funeral home to bring dignity and respect to the lives of the 80 children at the home.
