The incident happened on Sunday at about 6.30pm, when the complainant was driving a local mini taxi, a blue conquest from Reedville.
“Inside the vehicle there were two passengers at the time.
“After passing the robots of Springs Road, as the complainant was heading towards Thema Road, the two so-called passengers then produced firearms.
“They ordered the driver to make a u-turn at the corner of Thema Road and Hadebi Street and directed him to a garage in Springs,” says police spokesman capt Thabo Sibuyi.
He adds the driver was ordered to get out while the suspects then allegedly drove away in the vehicle.
The vehicle with registration number HGD 047 GP has not been recovered.
No arrested have been made but police are investigating a case of hijacking.
