Attempted murder and house robbery investigated

Tsakane – A 62-year-old businessman sustained two shot wounds to his right arm while at his home in Geluksdal.

The incident occurred at around 6.40pm last Monday while the complainant was closing the gate at his home.

Police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says three armed suspects allegedly shot the man.

An ambulance was then called to the scene and the victim was taken to the Pholosong Hospital for medical treatment.

“It is believed that the same suspects returned to the house, on Tuesday at about 3.50am where they broke a window to gain entry to the home.

“They found a 49-year-old woman with her children (ages unknown) and demanded cash from the safe.

“It is unclear if they got the cash, however they ended up walking away with two plasma TV, a camera and a firearm,” says Ramphora.

A case of attempted murder and house robbery was opened at the Tsakane Police Station.
