A new depot in KwaThema

KwaThema - A depot for the Parks and Recreation Department vehicles is currently underway in Kgaswane Street in KwaThema.

According to KwaThema CCC manager Andries Nkabinde, this will speed up service delivery as tractors had to come all the way from Springs to maintain facilities in KwaThema.

“With the vehicles parking here in KwaThema it will be easier for workers to attend to issues needing tractors and trucks in the community,” he says.

According to community liaison officer Bianca Vamba, the construction of the depot started in May and will be completed by March next year.

The project has provided five locals with employment; three males and two females, and one sub contractor was appointed.

“The depot will boast an administration block, garages, storage and parking space,” says Vamba.

Although the project is still in its first phase, Vamba says they haven’t encountered any problems and they should be done by the set period they anticipate.
