Gambi gets seven years imprisonment

Duduza – Twenty-seven-year-old Veli Gambi was found guilty and sentenced to seven years imprisonment for armed robbery.

This comes after he robbed his 30-year-old victim at the corner of Khumalo and Nala streets on February 25.

W/O Imtiaz Yakub Rasool says a case of armed robbery was registered and Gambi was arrested and detained the same day.

The matter was placed before the Nigel Magistrate’s Court and Gambi appeared on February 26.

He was then found guilty for armed robbery on July 28 and sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

The court also declared Gambi unfit to possess a firearm.

The station commander of Duduza SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Droskie, has expressed her praise to Constable Nevea Mahlaba for her professional and thorough investigation resulting in this success.

She further adds that this success should serve as a warning to would-be criminal that they will be apprehended and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
