While on her way she met up with a friend and as the two were walking through the sports complex, they were approached by a suspect in a balaclava.
W/O David Mphali says the suspect allegedly took out a firearm, pointed it at the girls and demanded the complainant’s cellphone.
She refused to give it to him and he threatened to shoot her.
The young woman handed over the phone but as the suspect left, the complainant tried to follow him, leading him to fire a shot as he ran off.
