Police say, at about 8pm, the deceased heard the child (age unknown) from next door, screaming for help as his father was being robbed inside their home, in Extension 17.
“When the child screamed for help, the neighbour came out to try and assist, however, the suspect who seemingly panicked, shot him.
“The deceased was taken to the Pholosong Hopsital for medical treatment, but died on Monday,” says police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora.
Police are investigating a case of murder.
