EMPD spokesman Wilfred Kgasago says that, last Wednesday, the EMPD First Responder Unit members were alerted to a white Toyota Avanza occupied by three men, who were on an early morning robbing spree in Duduza and Tsakane.
“The hunt for the suspects, all in their early 30s, started at around 7am, with the resultant arrests of the trio on Vlakfontein Road, at around 9am, near the Duduza taxi rank,” he adds.
“The three arrested suspects were found in possession of a toy 9mm pistol; they were detained at Tsakane Police Station and were charged with armed robbery.
“Several members of the communities of Tsakane and Duduza who fell victim to the trio also came forward and opened cases of armed robbery at the police station.”
Police are still investigating and the three are expected to soon appear in the Tsakane Magistrates Court.
