According to the chairperson of the branch, Sipho Hlophe, it has come to their attention that there are people collecting a sum of R50 at local taverns for membership cards.
“At the moment registration for membership is put on hold from the head office because there is a new system that will be reintroduced.
“So Orlando Pirates supporters should not pay any money for membership cards up until we announce that registration is opened,” warns Hlophe.
He further alleges that the culprits are former branch members who are trying to open their very own supporters branch, which is illegal as per demarcation only one Springs branch may exist.
“Supporters who want to be a part of the branch may come to the clubhouse to get more information on how to go about registering to be a member,” he adds.
