Businessman and partner robbed

KwaThema - A businessman and his partner, who were driving home on Saturday afternoon, were allegedly attacked by three armed men in a green Astra sedan with no number plates.

The incident took place at the intersection of Vlakfontein and Tonkmeter roads, near Extension Two, in KwaThema, at around 4pm.

“The complainant and his partner were driving home after a long day at his business, which he runs at the Duduza Taxi Rank,” says EMPD spokeman Wilfred Kgasago.

“The two were then robbed of cash, cellphones and vehicle keys, and left stranded out on the road, at the intersection.

“Fortunately, at around 6.30pm, EMPD Daveyton Precinct commander Major Mpho Khauoe came to the rescue of the stranded businessman and his partner, made it possible for the spare keys to be delivered to them from Secunda and made sure the complainant could lay charges at the KwaThema Police Station.”

He adds that investigations are underway in an effort to apprehend the robbers.
