GDE faces technical issues with new system

Less than a day after launching the province’s Online Learner Admission Campaign, the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has issued a statement saying it had temporarily suspended the online application website.

This comes after the MEC for Education, Panyaza Lesufi launched the campaign on Sunday at the Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School in Daveyton.

“The GDE has taken a decision to temporarily suspend the admissions online application website until April 13, due to unforeseen technical challenges.

“The department is currently attending to these technical challenges to ensure that the website is up and running by Wednesday,” the department said in a statement.

The department appeals for patience while it is working on fixing the technical challenges and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
