Woman looses all

Duduza – A 45-year-old woman lost R150 000 after she allegedly gave the money to a male in Springs in the hope that he could increase it.

According to Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora, on March 16 at about 11am a woman from Duduza went to pawn her car at a garage in Springs.

She was given R150 000 in cash for the car.

However, the woman claims that after that she met a foreign national male claiming to be an ‘inyanga’ at the flats in Springs, who promised to multiply her money.

It is not known how the two met, but the woman states that she gave her money to this man.

It is believed that he disappeared with all the money, and when the woman went back to Springs the next day, he was nowhere to be found.

Since the car had already been taken by the garage and the woman had accepted the cash, she lost everything, says Ramphora.

A case of theft has been opened but no arrests have been made so far.
