Mabena was born on March 20, 1962, and was a child of the late Isaac and Constance Mabe.
She started school at Thakgalang Primary School and later proceeded to Mamelong Secondary School where she completed her matric.
After that she went then went to Springs College where she attained a Diploma in Early Childhood Development.
She worked at Town Talk Furniture and later moved on to Mabel Zozo Crèche in 1989 as a practitioner, thereafter becoming a principal in 2003.
Mabena married Isaac in 1983 and they were blessed with four children, Thabo, Danisile, Manalisa and Banele, and two grandchildren, Siphesihle and Nkosinathi.
Her funeral service will be conducted on March 19 at the Emmaus Hall in Duduza, Zimo Street, with the service commencing at 8am.
The funeral will then proceed to the Nigel Cemetery at 11am where Mabena will be taken to her final resting place.
