This come after Mpumezo Richard Ndamane appeared at the Nigel Court and was sentenced last Thursday.
According to the police’s Capt Johannes Ramphora, Ndamane was initially arrested after he had called a woman living with a disability to his house and raped her.
The incident occurred on September 8, 2013 at about 2pm. The woman was 33 years old at the time.
“Though the two knew each other, some of the community members saw the woman go into Ndamane’s home and not come back for some time.
“The suspicious community members then alerted the police and the man was arrested.
“The man will serve his sentence at the Nigel Prison,” says Ramphora.
