Young people equipped with leadership skills

Kwatsaduza – Local young people of KwaThema and Duduza have been equipped with skills and tips to help them have prosperous futures.

This comes after the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC) Area 7 had its Women’s Missionary Society Young People and Children’s Division (YPD) attend a leadership-grooming summit.

The three-day affair was held at the Mokone Memorial AMEC in Soweto recently, with the main aim being to empower the youth with life skills and to give them spiritual upliftment.

“This annual event had speakers who were able to motivate our young people not to give up on life and to always be positive despite challenges they might face.

“The speakers also shared their life stories and challenges they had faced growing up, how they tackled them and what they have been able to achieve today,” said area director of the YPD, Eresinah Mazibuko.

She said that other topics that were covered at the summit included youth leadership, worship, knowing the church and effective leadership.
