“In its continuous efforts to provide a stable and reliable power supply to consumers, the Ekurhuleni Metro will be replacing electrical equipment in various substations in the Brakpan area as part of the maintenance programme,” says Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro.
In order to make way for the work, there will be a planned power supply interruption that will affect parts of Brakpan and the surrounding areas (excluding Brakpan North) on March 6, from midnight until 9am.
All areas of Brakpan (except Brakpan North), Langaville and Geluksdal will be affected.
Residents are reminded to treat all electrical appliances and the network as electrically live at all times.
“The metro wishes to apologise for any inconvenience to be caused,” Gadebe concludes.
