Mayoral Imbizo in Langaville

Langaville - Ekurhuleni mayor Clr Mondli Gungubele visited Langaville on Wednesday as part of the mayoral imbizo to address residents of the progress the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) has done to assure that the community receives service delivery.

Leading the meeting was MMC of water and energy Doctor Xhakaza, who spoke on the various departmental responses to grievances raised by the community.

“The metro has tried by all means to make sure that the grievances presented by the people were solved as best and efficiently as possible.

“We cannot attend to all the issues at once and there is still more work to be done. We urge community members to be patient with us as we try and give them service delivery,” said Xhakaza.

Residents were also given the opportunity to comment and ask questions regarding the progress in Langaville.

Many were still displeased with the selling of stands, illegal occupation of RDP houses and youth unemployment.

“We still have a huge problem with housing in the area. Foreign people are living in our RDP houses,” said an angry Zanele Mthembu.

Those were the pertinent issues raised by the community of Langaville.

As the mayoral committee tried to respond to the questions and comments, heavy rains began making it impossible for community members to hear responses to their questions.

The whole marquee began to be flooded, forcing Xhakaza to cut short his answer session.

“We have noted all the question and we will make it a point to answer all of them to the relevant people.

“It is unfortunate that the weather has forced us to leave without addressing every question” he said.
