Police hunt for suspect who raped 17-year-old girl

KwaThema – The police are seeking the assistance of the community in finding a rapist who violated a 17-year-old girl at her home in the early hours of Monday morning.

According to police spokesperson W/O David Mphali, the complainant alleges that on February 15, at about 2am she was asleep in her bedroom when she heard someone push her bedroom door open.

“The girl says she thought it was her uncle opening the door; however, when the suspect switched on the light he saw her and the girl saw the suspect holding a knife and then he switched it off again.

“He then ordered the girl to take off her underwear and threatened to hurt her if she made a noise.

“The girl begged him to take her printer instead and not to rape her, but he grabbed her by the neck, pushed her to the bed, opened her legs and raped her,” says Mphali.

He adds that the suspect was not wearing a condom as he repeatedly raped the teenage girl.

He then took the girl’s cellphone and when he heard the domestic worker (35) walking into sitting room, he jumped out of the bed, opened the bedroom door and ran away.

“The domestic worker tired to chase the suspect and call for help but the suspect ran through the kitchen door and got away.

“She also reported her phone was also stolen.

“We plead with anyone with information to contact Detective W/O Bones Ntshangasi on 082 336 5666,” he says.
