Start a ‘stranger danger whistle’ trend to keep school children safe

Teach your child from a young age about strangers and the possible danger they may hold.

With the start of the new school year, children are piling into the streets walking to and from school.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, we live in dangerous times and threats linger around every corner.

Teach your child from a young age about strangers and the possible danger they may hold.

Start by tying a whistle around your child’s neck which is hidden beneath their school clothes.

Teach them how to use it and when to use it, explain to them that it is not just a normal whistle, but a safety whistle, to be used only in case of emergency and when the child is scared in the company of a stranger.

Children should avoid strangers at all costs, but when in a situation where they are faced with a person and feel threatened, they must know to blow the whistle and not stop until help in the form of a trusting adult arrives.

The “stranger danger whistle” is not a specially designed whistle that has to be bought at a specific shop.

The whistle can be any type, made of any material and can even be decorated according to the child’s own taste.

Attach the whistle to a string and tie it around the child’s neck, hidden out of sight underneath their school clothes.
