Christmas baby deliveries

It has been a very busy morning for the staff of Far East Rand Hospital, but they are happy as this Christmas Day has seen many mothers stream in to deliver their new born babies.

So far the staff has welcomed 11 babies since the early hours of this morning while others are still to come.

  • Ntombizodwa Simelane delivered a baby boy at 00:15am, weighing 3.1kg
  • Anelia Tanele gave birth to her baby boy at 00.40am weighing 1.5kg
  • Sibongile Dlamini delivered her baby boy at 01.25am weighing 3.8kg
  • Patience Khumalo gave birth to baby girl at 02.00am weighing 2.9kg
  • Sithembile Myeni delivered her baby boy at 02.10am, weighing 2.9kg
  • Elsie Masango gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl at about 03.55am, boy weighed 1.4kg while girl weighed 1.6kg
  • Olavia Nevis delivered her baby girl at 03.10am, weighing 3.7kg
  • Jabulile Shabangu gave birth to her baby boy at 05.50am 2.8kg
  • Tsotang Moloisane delivered her baby boy at 07.50am weighing 3.7kg
  • Mpho Matsoetlane gave birth to her baby boy at 04.25am, weighing 4.1kg.

The mothers are excited about their Christmas gifts while the staff says that they are still expecting to help more mothers deliver their infants throughout the day.
